Newly crowned Miss SA Joan Ramagoshi says she is "stunned and overwhelmed" by her selection as South Africa's most beautiful woman.

At a press conference after the annual pageant at Sun City in the North West on Saturday night, Ramakgoshi said the previous Miss SA, Cindy Nell, had been her inspiration and role model.

Ramagoshi, 24, lives in Pretoria and owns a public relations agency.

Her selection means Ramagoshi will be able to participate in the Miss World and Miss Universe pageants.

"I am still trying to get my life together," a delighted Ramagoshi exclaimed at the conference.

At the same event held in the Super Bowl at the sprawling Pilanesberg complex, a Parktown High School for Girls beauty, Masechaba Dlengezele, 18, was crowned Miss SA Teen.

Dlengezele aims to become an "internationally acclaimed corporate attorney", and she likes horse-riding, reading and meditating.

Though the Super Bowl was not packed, organisers said national television coverage meant that sponsors got their money's worth. - Sapa
