Youth Day is celebrated annually on the 16th of June in commemoration of the students who united against the Bantu Education Act in 1976.

This video reflects on the situation at the time, touching on the casualities and injuries of those who stood up against the apartheid authority and against the forced teaching of all school subjects in Afrikaans.

Those who were part of the struggle gave the future generations the opportunity to equal education and, in remembering their past, allows us to cherish our present.
