Durban - A male cyclist was knocked over by a truck on the Tinley Manor link road on Saturday morning.
"The truck which which was fully loaded and travelling uphill at the time came around a blind bend when several cyclists were training on the road," said Samantha Meyrick spokesperson for IPSS Rescue.
It is believed that some of the cyclists were on the wrong side of the road.
The truck driver did attempt to stop but three cyclists hit the front of the vehicle.
"The man who died went under the front wheel of the truck which resulted in his fatal injuries.
The other two cyclists sustained a few cuts and bruises," Meyrick said.
The truck driver is said to be inconsolable and is receiving counselling.
