Pietermaritzburg - A man survived being hit by a train train in Morcom Road in the Prestbury area in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday morning, escaping with only minor injuries, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.

ER24 paramedics and other services attended to the incident, ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said.

Upon arrival at the scene, paramedics found the man, 31, lying near the train tracks.

Upon assessment it was found that he sustained minor injuries. He was treated and transported to hospital for further medical care, Bodasing said.
