Durban - Nine people were killed and three others injured when a bakkie collided with a truck on the R22 in northern KwaZulu-Natal, paramedics said on Monday.
Provincial emergency services spokesman Robert McKenzie said the accident happened on Sunday night around 7pm.
“There were 12 passengers in the bakkie and nine of them lost their lives in the accident,” he said.
Three others were injured and transported to a local hospital. McKenzie said the truck driver was not injured.
