Durban - A traditional healer was shot in his home in Hillcrest on Wednesday, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

Spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane said the incident occurred at 9am in KwaNgcolosi.

“It is alleged that the victim, Bhekinkosi Simon Dube was in his yard when he was approached by two suspects who allegedly shot him several times in the head and in the stomach,” Zwane said.

Zwane said the 59-year-old Dube died instantly and the suspects fled the scene on foot.

A case of murder was opened by the Hillcrest police for investigations. He said the motive for the killing was unknown and no arrest has been made.
