Durban - Two men who were shot dead at a Durban block of flats are alleged to have been killed in a dispute over parking bays, police said on Monday.

Police spokesman Colonel Jay Naicker said the shooting at 5.30pm on Sunday took place at Kingsford, a block of flats.

“It’s alleged that the two victims, aged 25 and 30, were involved in an argument with a 57-year old suspect who lives in the same block of flats as them, over a parking space. It’s alleged that the suspect shot both men dead with his firearm.”

Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said on Sunday that both men had died from their wounds before paramedics arrived on scene.

Naicker said the 57-year old man had been detained on charges of murder and his firearm had been seized. He is expected to appear in court soon.
