Police are looking for a 25-year-old man from Bloekombos in Kraaifontein in connection with the leak of a matric exam paper this week.

Copies of the standard-grade matric maths paper were sold to pupils of Hector Petersen Secondary School in Kraaifontein for R150 apiece, 24 hours before the exam was written on Monday.

The papers were sold in Bloekombos and Wallacedene on Sunday. Police have identified a suspect.

Brian Schroeder, director of curriculum management for the Western Cape Department of Education, has welcomed the police breakthrough. "We are very happy with the rapid progress made by the police in this very important case."
