Western Cape police on Tuesday arrested three men in connection with the murder of a 36-year-old woman who was found half-naked in her house in Pniel near Paarl.

"Detectives followed up on information received and arrested three men aged 18, 21 and 47 from the Stellenbosch area," said Superintendent Billy Jones.

Sandra Wilson's body was discovered by police on Monday around 12.30pm.

"Her body was found on the bedroom floor with an electric cord around her neck," said Jones.

He said it appeared as though the woman had been strangled.

Police were informed by the landlord of the premises in Johannesdal on the R310, after he suspected something was wrong.

The woman was last seen alive on Sunday evening. Her white Nissan bakkie with registration CL 45199 was stolen.

The men were in police custody and were due to appear in the Stellenbosch magistrate's court on Thursday.
