Bloemfontein - The case against a Danish man found with a “collection” of female genitalia in his home’s freezer in Bloemfontein a year ago, has been postponed in the Bloemfontein High Court to allow him to obtain legal representation.
The 63-year-old Peter Frederiksen, who was arrested in September last year after the police found 21 pieces of female genitalia in a freezer at his Langenhoven Park home in Bloemfontein, appeared in court on Friday for a pre-trial conference.
However, the case was postponed until October after it emerged that he did not have a lawyer to represent him.
Frederiksen is facing 59 charges, including assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, possessing unregistered medicine, possessing unlicensed firearms, distributing and possessing child pornography, conspiracy to murder, and bigamy.
His wife, Anna Matseliso Molise, 28, who alerted the police to her husband’s alleged unlawful activities, was gunned down only weeks after his arrest. She was the State’s key witness.
It is alleged that Frederiksen performed illegal female circumcisions on his victims, including his late wife, and kept the severed parts as “trophies”.
