Kimberley - Cosatu in the Northern Cape will demonstrate outside the Kathu Magistrate’s Court on November 6 to implore the court to deny bail to the man accused of a racially-motivated attack that left a young Kathu man dead and another in hospital

Harry Kotze, 38, is accused of murder and attempted murder following an incident that claimed the life of 20-year-old Elcardo Crew and landed Eshric Molino, 19, in the Gariep Mediclinic.

The driver of a 4x4 bakkie allegedly deliberately drove into Crew and Molino and two of their friends.

Cosatu provincial secretary Anele Gxoyiya stated that officials from the provincial office had last week visited the families of Crew and Molino.

He said that they wanted to gain first-hand information regarding the alleged incident, which apparently occurred after an altercation took place between the two young men and the driver of the bakkie.

Gxoyiya urged the community of Kathu to join hands in opposing racism by joining the protest outside the court on November 6.
