Kimberley - Two teenagers have been arrested by the Pampierstad police in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Amogelang Itumeleng Motshedi, who was found dead with a rope tied around his neck in a local cemetery.

Amogelang’s body was discovered in the Pampierstad Cemetery on September 6 by a passer-by.

Police spokesperson, Captain Sergio Kock, said that the two suspects were arrested on Monday at around midday.

“On Monday, September 10, 2018, at about 12.15pm, the Pampierstad Detectives arrested two suspects, aged 15 and 16 years. The suspects were arrested in Pampierstad and should be appearing in the Pampierstad District Court soon. The murder investigation continues,” said Kock.

According to the family of the dead boy, there was evidence that Amogelang had been badly assaulted. There were also scuff marks on his face, which looked as though he had been dragged with the rope.
