Johannesburg - Three people died after a car they were travelling in collided with a truck outside Makhado in Limpopo on Tuesday.

Police spokesman Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said the accident happened around 4am along the N1 highway.

''It is alleged that the truck was travelling from the south to north direction when it collided with a sedan head-on. All three occupants of the sedan died instantly, no one was injured in the truck. The deceased are aged between 22 and 30 and are members of a church around Pretoria in Gauteng,'' said Ngoepe.

A case of culpable homicide is being investigated. The cause of the accident is not yet known.
