A matric invigilator was arrested after the Western Cape's exam machine was rocked by its second test paper leak on Thursday.

Back-up papers for a national standard grade maths paper had to be printed on Thursday night after a chief invigilator in the Strand allegedly leaked two of the papers to two pupils on Wednesday.

Copies of the matric exams for maths, biology and geography were removed from Khanyolwethu High School's safe on Wednesday and given to two pupils. Police were alerted shortly afterwards.

The papers were retrieved after an investigation.

Replacement papers will be written on Friday at Strand, Rusthof and Khanyolwethu.
