Rustenburg - An all-men march brought Rustenburg to a standstill on Thursday, to kick start the Mandela Day activities.
"Not in our names", the men chanted, as the march through the main streets of the city, against killing, raping of women and children as well as human trafficking and drug trafficking.
Prostitution and drug trafficking was reported to be rife on Rustenburg streets, to such an extend that prostitutes ply their trade during the day, some a stone throw from the magistrate's court.
Rustenburg mayor Mpho Khunou, urged the men to continue with the campaign.
"I urge you to continue with the campaign, let this not be the last campaign. Men in Rustenburg must come together, we have lost the control of Rustenburg to human trafficking and drug trafficking. We need to take our campaign to brothels," Khunou said.
"We cannot allow people from outside to do drug and human trafficking in Rustenburg. We must closed all brothels in Rustenburg. We must start cleaning the streets of Rustenburg."

The march coincided with the arrest of three men in Broederstroom near Brits, for alleged possession of mandrax with an estimated street value of R4 million on Wednesday night.
Men participating in the march, vowed to protect women and children as well as stopping abused directed to women and children.
On June 10, men in Rustenburg were called to protect women and children during a march against woman and child abuse in the city.
The municipality has lined up activities until the end of the month to celebrate Nelson Mandela International Day on July 18.
The activities include painting, tiling and ceiling fitting at Kutlwanong Special School in Phokeng, distribution of blankets to the needy in Nkaneng as well as distribution of clothes to the needy in Moumong.
