Rugby star Bob Skinstad will break the hearts of his female fans when he marries his fiancée Debbie Wolff at a wine farm near Franschhoek a week from Saturday.

Skinstad, once voted one of the most eligible bachelors in South Africa, arrived back in the country with Wolff this week from Britain, where he has been working as a TV rugby commentator.

The couple have been relaxing in Hermanus.

The former Springbok and Western Province rugby captain was popular with women who often held placards at local matches imploring him to marry them.

Skinstad proposed to Wolff while they were on holiday at Cape St Francis in January.

Media rights to the wedding have been given to Top Billing.

Skinstad's bachelor party will be held this weekend.

December 11 will be a double date for rugby weddings as Springbok and Western Province scrumhalf Neil de Kock will also be walking down the aisle with Sonya Meintjes, his girlfriend of five years.

"We both met studying together at Stellenbosch University and I popped the question at On the Rocks, a restaurant in Blouberg where we had our first date," said De Kock.

His wedding is being held at the Zeevenwacht wine estate in Kuils River. The couple, both 26, will then fly to Thailand for their honeymoon.
