Cape Town – Roger Kebble, the father of the late mining magnate Brett Kebble, was found dead in Cape Town after an apparent suicide, media reports said on Tuesday.

When contacted by the African News Agency, Western Cape police confirmed that the body of a man was found in his car in Bishopscourt, but would not name the man.

“In response to your enquiry kindly be advised that this office can confirm that this afternoon 25 August 2015, a body of a 76-year-old man was found by the police inside a vehicle with gunshot wound to his head on the corners of Montery and Upper Bebbinto Road in Bishopscourt,” said police spokeswoman Noloyisa Rwexana.

“An inquest case is under investigation. No one has been arrested at this stage.”

Various media reports named the victim as Kebble snr.

Brett Kebble was gunned down in Johannesburg in September 2005 – a death which the courts ruled was a assisted suicide by three self-confessed hitmen.
