Uitenhage - Two men were sentenced to 40 years imprisonment on Friday by the Uitenhage Regional Court for armed robbery, Eastern Cape police said.
Luzuko Peter and Sinethemba Nkumanda robbed a store and a spaza shop in Duka Street, Addo, in August 2011, Warrant Officer Gerda Swart said.
“Three men entered the shop armed with two revolvers and a shotgun. They robbed the shop of cash and airtime.”
An off-duty police officer chased and caught the two. He shot and killed the third robber.
