Cape Town - Three suspected gang members have been arrested in Mitchells Plain for the possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition, Western Cape police said.
“All three suspects aged between 22 and 30 years old were arrested for possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition,” said the province’s police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk.
Alerted to the police’s presence, the suspects attempted to flee the scene but were caught and then searched by the officers.
“The members managed to [search] the suspicious men and they recovered a .38 Special Revolver with ammunition,” said Van Wyk.
The suspects would appear in the Mitchells Plain Magistrate’s Court soon.
