Damascus -

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad will not resign at peace talks slated to take place in Geneva, and rebels should not “bother” attending if they expect his departure, Syria's foreign minister said on Monday.

“President Bashar al-Assad will not resign. If your condition (for talks at Geneva) is President Assad's resignation, don't bother coming,” Walid al-Muallem said at a Damascus press conference. - Sapa-AFP
