A man jumped to his death in front of horrified Christmas shoppers after a row with his girlfriend about shoes.
Tao Hsiao had demanded to go home, having spent five hours trudging around a shopping mall.
When his girlfriend insisted they go to another store that had a special offer on shoes, they had a blazing row, said witnesses in Xuzhou, eastern China.
The 38-year-old could be heard yelling that they already had more bags than they could carry.
A witness said: “He told her she had enough shoes, more shoes that she could wear in a lifetime and it was pointless buying any more. She started shouting at him, accusing him of being a skinflint and of spoiling Christmas.”
Tao threw the bags down and jumped from a seventh-floor balcony, smashing into Christmas decorations as he fell to the ground floor and causing shoppers to flee in panic. - Daily Mail
