Washington - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offers “no concrete action plan” to address Iran's nuclear programme, a senior US administration official says after the premier rejected a deal under negotiation.
“We have been absolutely clear that the current negotiations are about preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. These negotiations are not an opening to a rapprochement with Iran,” says the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The official dismisses Netanyahu's claims that the deal under discussion provides too little breakout time for Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon and that a 10-year agreement is too short.
