Ljubljana – After a one year break, 31-year-old athlete Primoz Kozmus, Olympic and world champion in the hammer throw, is back in competition.

Just as the decision to end his career was unexpected, the latest decision to continue also came as a shock.

The three times best Slovenian athlete’s decision was explained with the following words: “For the withdrawal from athletics, I have had a number of reasons that were personal. However, I am a sportsman at heart and I think that I can bring much more to this sport and in hammer throw I have not said my last word yet.

“Towards new challenges, I am starting with joy and optimism, which also health allows me, as I had time for regeneration during my withdrawal time”.

Last year, after an extremely successful season, when he became world champion in Berlin, Kozmus unexpectedly decided on a career break. His decision was explained by lack of motivation. – Sapa-AFP
