TAIPEI – SA's Luvo Manyonga continued his strong form this season with a comfortable victory in the men's long jump with a winning leap of 8.40m at the Taiwan Athletics Open in Taipei on Saturday.

The world champion opened with a jump of 8.12m, before landing an effort 28cm longer with his next attempt. Manyonga beat second-placed  Tzu Chi Lin of Taipei by 35 centimetres.

Elsewhere, Dominique Scott-Efurd ran a personal best in the women's 5000m in the Diamond League meeting in Eugene, USA. Scott-Efurd claimed eighth position in 15 minutes 10.23 seconds. Her strong run bettered her previous best of 15:20.10 by nearly 10 seconds.

Also in Eugene, Anaso Jobodwana's time of 20.42 in the men's 200 metres was only good enough to give him a fourth spot on the night, with the win going to American Noah Lyles in 19.69.
