JOHANNESBURG– Hekkie Budler’s unification bout with IBF junior-flyweight champion Milan Melindo is back on after an intervention by Golden Gloves promoter Rodney Berman.

Berman said that the issue surrounding accommodation had been sorted out. He was further encouraged by confirmation of the officials, not least all three judges being neutral.

Wes Melton of the US will referee the fight on September 16.

Melton has officiated numerous big fights involving boxers like Shane Mosley, Joe Parker and Roy Jones jnr.

The three judges are Takeo Harada (Japan), Carl Zappia (Australia) and Glenn Trowbridge of Las Vegas, who this past weekend judged Gervonta Davis’ IBF championship fight on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather against Conor McGregor.

He also judged the recent Andre Ward-Sergey Kovalev fight.

“I have no complaints,” said Berman. “All we want is a fair shake.”

Budler’s team leaves for the Philippines on Tuesday.
