JOHANNESBURG – The long-awaited Sascoc Committee of Inquiry into the allegations of improper governance and non-adherence to the Constitution of Sascoc (SA Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee) is set to commence on Monday at the Ellis Park Stadium Auditorium.
The Committee of Inquiry comes in response to numerous and serious allegations of poor governance, financial mismanagement and non-adherence to the Sascoc constitution – and the failure of the Sascoc Board to respond adequately to the Minister on all allegations levelled above.
The Inquiry will be led by retired Judge Ralph Zulman and two additional members, former cricket administrator Dr Ali Bacher and labour law expert Shamima Gaibie.
The Committee will handle for the duration of its sitting amongst other elements, leading evidence utilising their experience in the field of constitutional matters, governance and administration.
They will also investigate, make findings, report on the outcome to the Minister and make recommendations in relation to the mentioned Board-related governance issues and alleged non-adherence to the constitution of Sascoc.
