DURBAN - Proteas star batsman David Miller has returned home to Dolphins. The big-hitting Miller left the team that launched his career two seasons ago and joined the Knights in the Free State.

Next season, he will be plying his trade with the Dolphins. He was announced as a new signing for the Dolphins on Tuesday morning at Kingsmead Cricket Stadium. The 28-year-old batsman said it wasn't difficult for him to return to the Dolphins.

"It was pretty easy to be honest. I spent two years at the Knights. I loved my decision to go there, I don't have any regrets. I had great times and I learned a lot about my game. I think it was time to come back home," Miller said.

"Looking at the Dolphins from the outside, I missed a lot of things. The guys have been building some good team spirit and a lot of good performances there in the field as well and that is what I wanted."

Miller made his domestic debut for the Dolphins back in 2007/08. He spent nine years at Dolphins before departing for the Knights. The left hander has grown into one of the most devastating batsmen in international cricket. He is an important members of the Proteas squad that is preparing for the 2019 World Cup in England.

Dolphins coach, Grant Morgan is elated to have Miller back in to his arsenal: "You can't put a value in having someone like Davie, especially back in to his home environment. I remember the EP Kings (rugby side) with Alan Solomons had the tendency of bringing the home boys back home.

"In terms of trying to build this glory areas that we talk about, if you get a guy grown up in a place, you can't put a value on what seat on his heart and his soul and the efforts in his home people, family and friends and people he grew up with." The Dolphins enjoyed a decent season in 2017/18 and they made most of their luck at times.

We're proud to announce @DavidMillerSA12 as the newest signing to our @Hollywoodbets Dolphins family, making a very welcome return to Kingsmead. We look forward to all value he will bring in the coming seasons. #WelcomeHomeDave #DolphinsCricket #BringItIn #DurbanDolphins pic.twitter.com/tFWSfDsq4y
