Cape Town - Stephen Mokoka defended his Two Oceans Half marathon title on Saturday, finishing 40 seconds slower than he did last year.
The 29 year old Mokoka, who ran at the Half Marathon Championships in Denmark last month, finished the race in one hour four minutes and 16 seconds.
Joel Mmone finished in second place in 01:04:29 and Mokoka's running teammate Gladwin Mzazi was in third. He completed the race 01:04:29.
In the women's half marathon race, Lebo Phalula came in first place, winning her first Two Oceans 21km race. She finished ahead of Rene Kalmer in a time of 01:14:00. Kalmer was 23 seconds slower as she finished in second place.
Ethopian Gezashigh Gemeda was in third in a time 01:15:02. - Independent Newspapers
