PRETORIA – The Jaguars on Sunday won the Brutal Fruit netball tournament as they remained unbeaten throughout the competition, and Tuks coach Jenny van Dyk hailed the commitment of her troops.

The team, which is an all Tuks team in Sunday’s final played at Tuks, prevailed against the Southern Stings 49-47.

“As a coach, you can make any decision you want, but if the players do not buy into it, it is bound to fail. On Sunday every time I made changes to the team the players were 100 percent committed to making it work. I would say that made the real difference in the end,” said Van Dyk.

Tshina Madau, who won the player of the match award, ascribed the Jaguars success to the fact that they were able to keep their cool for the duration of the game.

“Towards the end when we were truly under pressure, we realised that there is only one option left, and that was to get back to the basics,” said Madau.
