South Africa's veteran wheelchair racer Ernst van Dyk won his fourth consecutive New York City Half Marathon on Sunday.
Van Dyk, who missed the first year the New York City Half Marathon added a professional wheelchair division with significant prize money in 2014, has been the dominant force over the last five years.
He finished first in a time 53:12 almost six minutes slower than his best performance back in 2016.

His victory comes short on the heels of a third-place finish at the Tokyo Marathon in February where he clocked 1:31:30 after winning a bunch sprint.
The seven-time Paralympian’s will take some confidence into the next leg of the World Marathon Majors series in Boston on April 16 where he will be looking for a record 11th career victory in the iconic race.
