The Stormers’ pre-season clash against the Cheetahs in Zimbabwe will give coach Robbie Fleck the perfect opportunity to eye his Super Rugby combinations in a match that will feature rolling substitutions.

Fleck’s group of 35, which includes a number of players returning from injury like Kurt Coleman, Dan du Plessis and Frans Malherbe, will face the Currie Cup champions in their first warm-up game of the season in Harare tomorrow.

After a pre-season that saw the Stormers focusing on their skills with the help of former Blues skills coach Paul Feeney and an altered strength and conditioning program, Fleck said that he was looking forward to seeing the results of their hard pre-season work.

“There is a lot of talent in this squad, so it is about translating that into some good rugby which will give us a good chance to reflect and see where we are at,” he said.

Following their match at the National Sports Stadium, the squad will remain in Zimbabwe until Monday where they will conduct further training sessions and team-building exercises.
