CAPE TOWN – Records are meant to be broken and in keeping with this age old saying, six friends have decided to embark on a conquest of their own, all for a good cause.

As if running a marathon is not enough of a challenge, the group will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for running a marathon in a 6-person costume. The current record stands at 6 hours and 21 minutes.

Team Top Dog, made up of Mohammed Asgar Dalvie and five of his friends, will be attempting this feat at the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon on 23 September 2018.

They have selected the Cape of Good Hope SPCA as the beneficiary and, in keeping with the name of the organisation, the group will be running as one animal, well… as a Dachshund (sausage dog) appropriately named ''Worsie” !

Remember.... If you see a six-link sausage dog on the road, tied to each other by a rope, give them a Woof! Woof!
