Kaizer Chiefs registered their fourth successive win in the Absa Premiership to continue their revival. Amakhosi kept their place at the summit with 13 points and better goal difference. Lorenzo Gordinho not only helped Chiefs keep their fourth successive clean sheet in the 2-0 win over Ajax Cape Town, but he also scored at Moses Mabhida.

The 22-year-old centreback makes our team of the week, partnered by Thabo Nthethe at the back. Nthethe was part of a Mamelodi Sundowns’ defence that helped the Brazilians move a step closer to being African champions by denying Zamalek a crucial away goal in the first leg of the CAF Champions League final. Tebogo Langerman and Anthony Laffor capped off their good performances by scoring in the 3-0 win.

Polokwane City could have won by the same score-line or more against Orlando Pirates on Sunday but poor finishing let them down before the Buccaneers snatched a point at the death. Jabu Maluleke did a good job in dictating terms in midfield, while Puleng Tlolane terrorised them at the back. Meanwhile, Jeremy Brockie punished Highlands Park’s with his brace to register his first two goals of the season.
