BUENOS AIRES – Former Brazil international football star Ronaldinho is being held in Paraguay for allegedly using a fake passport to enter the country, prosecutors said Thursday.
"Ronaldinho travelled into Paraguay with a false passport," interior minister Euclides Acevedo said.
It is alleged Ronaldinho was using a passport originally issued to a Paraguayan citizen which was then manipulated.
According to a report in the ABC Color newspaper, Ronaldinho and his brother were given doctored passports by a businessman to attend the opening of a casino and various charity events.
