JOHANNESBURG – The Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee (DC) has rescheduled Kaizer Chiefs’ appearance in front of the DC.
Chiefs were initially scheduled to appear on May 3.
The hearing has now been moved to May 9 at 6pm in Johannesburg.
Kaizer Chiefs are facing charges of bringing the League into disrepute and misconduct.
This follows events of April 21 during the Nedbank Cup fixture against Free State Stars FC, where supporters invaded the pitch, assaulted some supporters and security officials and damaged property at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
Seats were ripped out, fires were started and TV cameras and other equipment were vandalised in the ensuing chaos as the players ran off the field at the final whistle once the spectators broke through the security cordon.
There were 18 people injured, with five receiving treatment in hospital, including one security guard who was particularly viciously attacked by a group of spectators.
