London – Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning to bring in four big signings in January as he attempts to turn round the struggling club’s fortunes.

Top of the Frenchman’s list is Schalke striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar, who could be available for a cut-price £6million.

Wenger is a long-term admirer of the 29-year-old Holland international, who scored two Champions League goals against the Gunners this season, and has received glowing feedback from his European scouts regarding the former Real Madrid striker, whose contract with the German club expires at the end of the season.

Wenger will also look to tie up a loan deal for Thierry Henry and make a £9m starting bid for Crystal Palace wonder kid Wilfried Zaha. He is in the market for a new goalkeeper, with Liverpool’s Pepe Reina thought to be first choice.

Wenger will not be the only manager in the running for Huntelaar, with Liverpool and Tottenham continuing to be kept updated on his future. – Daily Mail
