LONDON – Manchester United are discussing a new role for Patrice Evra at the club.

The 37-year-old has been a constant presence alongside executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward at games since October, and has been allowed into the dressing room by Jose Mourinho.

United are looking to bring in a director of football, but the former United defender is likely to have an ambassadorial or liaison remit.

Evra gets on well with many of the first team players, such as fellow Frenchmen Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain are the latest club to show interest in United defender Eric Bailly.

The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international is increasingly frustrated over his dip in form and lack of game time.

Arsenal and Tottenham also both admire the centre-back.

Leaving @ManUtd for personal reasons was the most difficult decision of my football career... but playing for @juventusfc was the easiest and most amazing decision. I will be proud forever mamamiaaa thanks for everything Forza juve fino alla fine and come on United!!!
