Cape Town City have identified Lamontville Golden Arrows’ speedy winger Siphelele Magubane as a suitable replacement for Aubrey Ngoma.

Ngoma left City to join Mamelodi Sundowns even though he had been one of the shining stars for the Citizens in the last 12 months.

City have already secured the services of striker Masound Juma, to replace Lehlohonolo Majoro (now with Wits) up front and the Kenyan netted 17 goals for his club Kariobangi Sharks last season.

It is understood that City have intentions of replacing Ngoma with Magubane.

According to a source, City have been in contact with Arrows.

“They have been very impressed with Magubane.

“They have already signalled their intentions about signing the player.

“He is still contracted to Arrows and City must be prepared to break the bank if they are to land him because Wits are also very interested in Magubane,” the source explained.

City are keen to conclude their deals as soon as possible because they want to register players in time for the Caf Confederation Cup.

Cape Town City boss John Comitis didn’t want to comment on Magubane.

“He is still contracted to Lamontville Golden Arrows.

“If we want to sign him we will directly speak with his club,” he added.

The Citizens also signed Kwanda Mngonyama from Sundowns.

City are also now looking to secure the services of Brilliant Khuzwayo and Keagan Buchanan from Kaizer Chiefs, in addition to Magubane.

“Yes we want to sign Khuzwayo and we’ve already engaged his agent but his demands are unrealistic.

“The numbers they are asking for are unaffordable, “ Comitis explained.

Shot-stopper Khuzwayo has had limited game time this season with Itumeleng Khune in form for Amakhosi.

Meanwhile AmaZulu have loaned out Sibusiso Magaqa to the National First Division side UThongathi FC.

The attacking left footer has found it hard to crack into the starting teamn for Usuthu this season.
