DURBAN – Kaizer Chiefs under-fire coach Steve Komphela is not in talks with anyone at this stage, according to his agent Tim Sukazi.

Sukazi confirmed Chiefs haven’t indicated if they will retain Komphela or not.

“They haven’t called us but... if you looked at what they have achieved in the last three seasons. It hasn’t gone according to plan for Steve."

"If you take that into consideration, a club like Chiefs will be looking (in a new) direction. The writing is on the wall,” Sukazi elaborated.

Komphela has failed to deliver a trophy during his tenure at Amakhosi. He has been linked to Benin.

“I don’t know where does that comes from. I... got an SMS from one of the journalists asking me about... Benin. We don’t have any offer from Benin. Steve is still contracted to Chiefs and we must respect that.”

“We can’t be talking to other clubs while he is still contracted to Chiefs and the season is on. We are not talking to anyone,” Sukazi said.

Komphela faces former team Free State Stars on Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium in a Nedbank Cup semi-final (kickoff 8.15pm).

If they win, they will either face Maritzburg United or Mamelodi Sundowns in the final in Cape Town. The Team of Choice will lock horns with Masandawana on Sunday at the Harry Gwala Stadium. The final is on May 19.
