JOHANNESBURG – Kaizer Chiefs’ win over Mamelodi Sundowns once again illustrated Itumeleng Khune’s standing as Mzansi’s number one as the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper pulled off some key saves to help Amakhosi to success.

Ahead of him Erick Mathoho was his usual solid self. The duo, along with their teammates in leftback Tsepo Masilela and striker Bernard Parker made it into our team this week. Also in is Sundowns’ Khama Billiat who marked his return to action after a long lay-off with a well-taken goal.

Forget that his shot deflected off Lorenzo Gordinho to beat Khune, the Zimbabwean’s magnificent control of a long pass from the middle by Holmpho Kekana was so sublime it wrong-footed Gordinho while setting up Billiat for a shot on goal.

Also impressive this weekend were Bidvest Wits’ midfielder Thabang Monare and defender Thulani Hlatshwayo while Golden Arrows veteran midfield enforcer Musa Milankulu was a key anchorman as Abafana Besthende got the better of relegation-haunted Highlands Park.

Sinethemba Jantie of Free State Stars shone bright as Ea Lla Koto got the better of Orlando Pirates in Orkney and is a worthy inclusion.
