CAPE TOWN – It was a victorious finish to their pre-season tour of Zambia for Orlando Pirates on Wednesday ahead of the new PSL campaign.

After a week-long training camp in Nelspruit, the Buccaneers travelled to Ndola in Zambia last week Monday.

They played TP Mazembe on Thursday, Power Dynamos FC and a Ndola Select XI on Sunday and Forest Rangers and Gomes FC on Wednesday.

It was a three-half game against DR Congo giants Mazembe, which ended goalless at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, while they drew 1-1 with Dynamos and beat Ndola 4-1.

On Wednesday, Pirates opened the scoring via Thamsanqa Gabuza, whose “brilliantly timed run beat the offside trap and left the striker unmarked to execute the finish”, according to the club’s official website.

Zakhele Lepasa’s “clinical finish” secured a 2-0 win, which was followed by a 45-minute match against Gomes FC.

Lepasa, Diamond Thopola and Augustine Mulenga got the goals in a 3-0 win.
