DURBAN - Bidvest Wits boss Gavin Hunt has extended his stay with the club. Hunt's contract with the Clever Boys was up for renewal but the coach stated that he has penned a new deal.

"I'm staying with Wits. I extended my contract a while ago," Hunt said he didn't want to go to details about the duration of the contract.

Hunt joined Wits back in 2013 after leaving SuperSport United. He has turned Wits in to a formidable force.

He delivered two trophies during the 2016/2017 season, winning the Absa Premiership title and the MTN 8 crown.

Hunt continue with impressive winning record as he attained the Telkom Knockout title in the season that has just ended.

Wits didn't enjoy the best of seasons but he was able to deliver a trophy. The team finished outside of the Top 8.

"We have to work on so many things. We didn't have a good season but we want to come back strong next season," Hunt explained as he vowed to improve for their poor showing in 2017/18.

Meanwhile, Wits captain Thulani Hlatshwayo has been linked to Orlando Pirates for quite some now but Hunt dismiss the murmurs.

"No ways, he is staying," Hunt who wasn't in the mood for long answers elaborated.
