JOHANNESBURG – Yannick Zakri gave Ajax Cape Town’s fight for survival a much-needed kiss of life with two goals that helped the Urban Warriors collect three points and move closer to 14th-placed SuperSport United. One point separates Ajax from Matsatsantsa a Pitori, with three games to go.

The Cape side’s January signing Zakri, who is on-loan from Mamelodi Sundowns, has proven to be an inspired buy for Ajax.

The Ivoirain forward has scored four in seven matches for Ajax. Zakri leads our Team of the Week, making up a strike force that also features Percy Tau. The Sundowns’ star man once again inspired the Brazilians to a win, creating both goals in the 2-0 win over Wits.

Tau is joined by teammate Themba Zwane, in a midfield that also has Fagrie Lakay, Siyethemba Mnguni and Siphesihle Ndlovu. Maritzburg’s Ndlovu scored a stunning goal in the 2-0 win over Baroka FC to help the Team of Choice, giving them an extra bite in their attacking play.

Ndlovu has been a consistent figure this season and could battle it out with Tau for the Footballer of the Year award.
