DURBAN – National First Division outfit Royal Eagles are set to capture the signature of former Kaizer Chiefs marksman, Lewis Macha. The Zambian is currently on trial at the club.

Eagles have endured a torrid start in to the new season, having succumbed to two defeats. They were beaten 1-0 at Chatsworth Stadium which is their home base in their opening encounter. The newcomers, TS Sporting, rubbed salt in to the wound last weekend as they downed Eagles 1-0.

Eagles are yet to find the back of the net in 180 minutes. They are still firing blanks and that's need to change quickly if they are to put a serious challenge for honours in the NFD.

Macha might be the solution to their problem. James Dlamini, the General Manager at the club said he is likely to sign next week. "We haven't signed him as yet. He is still training with us and he is looking good. I think he will sign next week," Dlamini confirmed.

The former Amakhosi hit-man has been jobless since cutting ties with Baroka FC. He arrived in South Africa with huge expectations. At Chiefs he wasn't given enough opportunity to prove himself. It is at Baroka where he struggled and he will be hoping to revive his career at Eagles.

Eagles will visit the high-flying Richards Bay FC on Sunday at Umhlathuze Sports Complex. It is a game not to miss as Richards Bay are oozing with confidence having collected six points in the first two matches. They will fight to keep their 100% record intact as they gearing up to face Eagles.

"We do have other new players but I don't want to reveal their names. You will see them on Sunday when we play Richards Bay FC. For now I won't mention their name," Dlamini said.
