Mamelodi Sundowns will put another bid in for Aubrey Ngoma during the upcoming transfer window.

The Brazilians made three offers for Ngoma in the previous transfer window earlier this year, but they were all declined by Cape Town City.

Independent Media can reveal, however, that Sundowns have not given up on signing Ngoma.

“Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is a big fan of Ngoma. He still wants him in his squad. Sundowns will put in another bid for him in this transfer window. They want to pay City the money and give them another player on top of that. They want to give City Kwanda Mngonyama for free, so that they can get Ngoma,” a reliable source stated.

Ngoma started the season with an injury that kept him out of action, and he only returned last month against Lamontville Golden Arrows at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu.

Ngoma has brought in a breath of fresh air into the City team since returning and has contributed with goals and assists.

City chairman John Comitis maintained that the club is not willing to sell Ngoma.

“Nobody is leaving us. We are not selling any of our players, even if there’s a good offer. All we want to do is to beef up our squad. I’m working very hard to secure three new signings,” Comitis explained.

City are after the services of Kaizer Chiefs goal-minder Brilliant Khuzwayo, Mohammed Anas and Mandla Masango.

Sundowns spokesman Thulani Thuswa declined to comment on the Ngoma rumour as his side are focused on their last league game of the year against the self-same City at Loftus Versfeld tonight (7.30pm kickoff).

City will also be competing in the Caf Confederation Cup next year. They secured their participation in the tournament after finishing third on the log last season.

The Citizens are also expected to give Lehlohonolo “Major” Majoro a new deal. The striker’s current contract is set to expire in June.
