DURBAN – Mamelodi Sundowns diminutive right back Anele Ngcongca is set to stay at Chloorkop.

Belgium outfit, Cercle Brugge were reported to be keen on landing the Bafana Bafana stelwart.

Ngcongca will remain with Masandawana according to his agent, Mike Makaab of ProSport International.

“The coach that we were engaging with is no longer there. Anele is staying with Sundowns. He has a lot to prove. He has sustained injuries.

“At least now he is going to have good pre-season. He is fit and playing very well,” Makaab said as he ruled out the possibility of Ngcongca exiting Sundowns.

Brugge recently parted ways with Frank Vercauteren who worked together with Ngcongca at Genk.

Ngcongca joined Sundowns at the beginning of the season following his nine-year stay in Europe.
