DURBAN – Amazulu are unhappy with the decision of judge Denise Fisher and they will exercise their leave to appeal.
On Tuesday Usuthu approached the South Gauteng High Court to interdict tomorrow's MTN 8 quarter-final between Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United.
Usuthu finished in the top eight but were kicked out after Ajax Cape Town were docked points for fielding defaulter Tendai Ndoro.
Ndoro played when the Urban Warriors beat SuperSport United 1-0 in an Absa Premiership encounter. SuperSport were handed three points after Ajax were found guilty of using Ndoro. As a result AmaZulu made way for Matsatsantsa A Pitori in the top eight.
AmaZulu general manager, Lunga Sokhela, confirmed they will appeal the ruling.
“We are extremely disappointed with the decision. We feel they got it completely wrong. We have been granted leave to appeal and we will definitely be exercising that right. We are hopingthat in the next two weeks the matter will be heard again. We want this matter to be treated as a matter of emergency,” Sokhela said.

Usuthu would have earned R1 000 000 for finishing in the top eight and at least R800 000 for taking part in the MTN 8.
“We want this to be as quick as possible. This has affected us financially. We have sponsors involved and we also have to pay court fees,” Sokhela added.
AmaZulu feel that points shouldn’t have been given to SuperSport but instead should have been forfeited. The game between Pirates and SuperSport will go on as scheduled.
