Sydney - Australia's privacy commissioner ordered Google to destroy any personal data collected from unsecured Wi-Fi networks picked up by its roving Street View vehicles, the office said .
Information Commissioner Timothy Pilgrim said he instructed the US-based company to make sure everything was wiped.
“Further, I would also request that Google undertakes an audit to ensure that no other disks containing this data exist,” he said.
Several countries investigated Google's Street View project two years ago after the company admitted it had gathered personal data sent over unsecured wireless networks. - Sapa-dpa
