INTERNATIONAL - Sony has announced its new device the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact at the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona. 

The Xperia XZ2 features a 5.7-inch HDR display, while the  XZ2 Compact has a 5.0-inch HDR screen.

The XZ2 has a resolution of 2160 x 1440 with an 18:9 ratio. 

Sony says that the handset will have support for High Dynamic Range (HDR) so blacks should appear deeper and colours more vivid.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 will be able to capture 4K video with a 10-bit colour depth in HLG format.

Both devices will have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset inside paired with 4GB of RAM. 

This chipset allows for download speeds of up to 1.2Gbps on an LTE connection.

The Xperia XZ2 will feature a 64GB onboard with support for a microSD card up to 400GB.

The Xperia XZ2 also has a 3 180mAh Battery. 

Sony’s XZ2 will be able to capture video at 960 fps at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 with its 19MP sensor.

The device also has a fingerprint sensor on the back.

 The devices come in the colours Liquid Silver, Liquid Black, Deep Green and Ash Pink.  

Sony told media that the Xperia XZ2 is expected to arrive in South Africa this coming May. However, Pricing still needs to be announced.
