Gareth Cliff, 5FM breakfast show host and M-Net Idols judge, has launched “the first South African ‘personality’ application” for iTunes, said a statement issued by his company, One on One Productions.
The app for iPhone and iPod Touch is free to download from the Apple app store. The iPad app launch will follow next month.
It features an alarm clock “with a variety of Cliff wake-up calls” as well as the day’s weather at your location.
“A daily feature is Gareth’s video blog chronicling the issues of the day in his characteristically irreverent yet entertaining and intelligent way, as well as integrating his Twitter and Facebook communities,” said the statement.
Cliff has a social network following of about 500 000.
“This initiative is the next step for Gareth in the convergence of media, content and technology, and is presented in an accessible and engaging format,” says Rina Broomberg, Cliff’s manager. - The Star
